Who you are hiring
Seventeen years of MW builds, run by the person who still walks your job.
Mindworking opened its doors in 2021. The name on the sign is new; the hands are not. Marcus Reyes spent eighteen years on Dallas–Fort Worth job sites before founding this company — eleven of them framing houses, seven running projects for other builders — and left because he was tired of watching good clients get handed a bigger invoice than the one they signed.
We are deliberately small, and we intend to stay that way for a while. We take on one project per crew at a time, which means a lead carpenter is on your job every day and the person who quoted it is the person who answers the phone. Growing slowly is a choice — it is the only way we can put the commitments below in a contract and actually keep them.
We are a design-build contractor, which means the person drawing your kitchen and the person pricing it work in the same office. Nothing gets designed that can’t be built for the number in your contract, and nothing gets ordered until you’ve signed off on the selection. It is a slower way to start a project and a far faster way to finish one.
We called the company Mindworking because the thinking is the part most contractors skip. Every hour spent on drawings, selections and sequencing before demolition is an hour nobody has to improvise on site — and improvising on site is what a change order actually is.
Our mission
To take the fear out of remodeling — by pricing honestly, scheduling realistically, and communicating before you have to ask.
Our vision
To be the contractor North Texas homeowners recommend by name, because the finished house and the signed contract matched.
How we work
One lead carpenter per job, one project manager per client, and a written update every Friday until the final walkthrough.

Recent work
Our first four projects, with the numbers left in
Load-bearing wall removed in a 1946 bungalow
The client wanted one room where a kitchen, a hallway and a formal dining room used to be. That meant an engineered beam, a new footing under the existing pier-and-beam foundation, and re-routing the entire kitchen electrical run. Original oak floors were laced in so the seam is invisible.
